KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Corp Bhd said the tender for the harbor CONSTRUCTION [] at Jazan Economic City, in Saudi Arabia has been aborted.
MMC said on Wednesday, Aug 25 the tender was aborted due to the ''impending change to the Jazan Oil Refinery's location as requested by Saudi Aramco.
'The port location will likewise be changed accordingly. Details are being studied to finalise the changes arising there from,' it said.
MMC said the discussions leading to a decision for the power plant to be developed by Saudi Electricity Company and the desalination plant by Saline Water Conversion Corporation of Saudi Arabia are on-going.
On the work progress on both contracts for the 380kV overhead transmission line project and 380/132kV substation project 'is proceeding smoothly and the targeted date for completion remains as July 2011'.
