KUALA LUMPUR: The FBM KLCI advanced in early trade on Monday, Jan 3, nudged by PLANTATION [] counters and GENTING BHD [], putting the new year of 2011 on a firm'' note.
At 9.07am, the FBM KLCI was up'' 8.47 points to 1,527.38. Turnover was 66.51 million shares valued at RM63.15 million. There were 171 gainers, 36 losers and 109 stocks unchanged.
KLK extended its gains from last week, surging 44 sen to RM22.54 with 6, 200 shares done, Hap Seng 20 sen to RM7.29, Batu Kawan rose 10 sen to RM17 and UMCCA nine sen to RM7.10.
DiGi climbed 40 sen to RM25 and Genting 12 sen to RM11.30.
