KUALA LUMPUR: The CONSTRUCTION [] Industry Development Board (CIDB) said RM19 billion in construction and infrastructure projects were implemented in the first half of 2010.
Its senior general manager and CEO Abdul Latif Hitam said on Tuesday, Aug 3 that for the whole year, he forecast it to be RM82.3 billion as this was the tail-end of the stimulus package and Ninth Malaysia Plan.
For 2011, he said about RM90 billion in projects to be implemented.
For the 10th Malaysia Plan, he said RM138 billion in projects would be implemented by the government and RM250 billion by the private sector.
Meanwhile, Works Minister'' Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said the government would table the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Bill at year end.
This bill, when it becomes law, would help resolve delayed payments over construction projects. Suppliers and contractors whose payments were delayed could seek the help of the adjudicator.
