#Stocks to watch:* Vastalux, Ingress, Genetec, UMW

Larger Smaller Reset KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 21): Stocks which could see trading interest on Wednesday following the fresh corporate news include VASTALUX ENERGY BHD [], INGRESS CORPORATION BHD [], Genetec TECHNOLOGY [] Bhd and UMW HOLDINGS BHD [].

Vastalux's shares will be suspended from trading on Dec 29 and delisted on Jan 3 after Bursa Malaysia Securities rejected its application for more time to submit its regularisation plan.

Ingress's earnings surged 222% to RM6.73 million in the third quarter ended Oct 31, 2011 from RM2.09 million a year ago, underpinned by its automotive component manufacturing and dealership businesses.

However, its revenue declined 18.6% to RM159.67 million from RM196.11 million while earnings per share were 8.77 sen compared with 2.72 sen.'' Pretax profit was 67.2% higher at RM10.20 million compared with RM6.10 million a year ago.

Meanwhile, Genetec ' a machine design specialist - secured RM13.1 million in orders from the hard-disk drive sector, increasing the total order to about RM20.7 million.

Genetec's executive chairman Ron Ortscheid said this was significant as the new orders are 'indicative of the recovery in the HDD sector following the Thailand flood a few months ago'.

UMW's 60% owned Synergistic Generation Sdn Bhd has secured a RM94.74 million (US$29.7 million) contract from Petronas Carigali Iraq Holding BV to supply materials and install the Garraf Power Plant phase 1 for the Garraf field located onshore Iraq.

UMW said Petronas Carigali Iraq was engaged in the development of the Garraf Contract Area, Iraq under a development and production service contract between South Oil Company, Petronas ''Carigali Sdn Bhd, Japan Petroleum Exploration Co Ltd and North Oil Company.
