KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): Global semiconductor manufacturing equipment billings in the third quarter of 2011 fell 5% year-on-year to US$10.61 billion from US$11.19 billion a year earlier.
The US-based Semiconductor Equipment Manufacturing Industry association in a statement on its website on Tuesday said the billings figure was 11% lower quarter-on-quarter.

The data is gathered in jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 100 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were US$7.6 billion in the third quarter of 2011, down 38% year-on-year and 29% lower quarter-on-quarter, said SEMI.
