KUALA LUMPUR: Trading in the securities of MALAYSIAN AIRLINE SYSTEM BHD [] and AIRASIA BHD [] were halted from 9am on Monday, Aug 8 at the request of the companies pending an announcement.
The Edge Financial Daily reported this morning that a management committee comprising representation from all shareholders was expected to steer the direction of MAS following a proposed shareholding tie-up between the national carrier and AirAsia.
Citing sources, the report said the management committee would headed by MAS's newly appointed chairman Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof and will comprise representatives from AirAsia if the shareholding tie-up comes to fruitiom.
