The Edge weekly had in November 2009 reported the B5 programme was to have started with the government vehicles, to be followed by the transport and industrial sectors.

The government vehicles would use up to 70,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year. Under the plan, B5 was to have been sold from January, 2010.
