Hwang DBS Vickers Research: Bulls may make early return

KUALA LUMPUR: Hwang DBS Vickers Research said with major US equity indices up between 1.8% and 2.4% at the closing bell overnight, it reckoned the bulls may make an early return to push the Malaysian bourse higher on Wednesday, Oct 6.

'This could then lift the benchmark FBM KLCI to overcome its recent high of 1,479.59, possibly making its way towards the next resistance level of 1,490 on the chart,' it said.

Hwang DBS Vickers Research said after seeing 7.2 of the 9.9-index point gain made on Tuesday was from DiGi alone, investors would be looking out for rotational / laggard plays.

In terms of news flows, there will be: (a) Top Glove's financial results for the May-Aug quarter scheduled for release around lunch time; and (b) the prospectus launch by big-cap Malaysia Marine & Heavy Engineering Holdings Wednesday morning, which is going to be listed on the Malaysian stock market end of this month.
