HPI Resources 4Q net profit dips

KUALA LUMPUR: HPI RESOURCES BHD []'s'' net profit dipped to RM7.24 million in the fourth quarter ended May 31, 2010 from to RM7.24 million from RM7.98 million a year ago.

It said on Tuesday, July 27 this was despite a 31% increase in revenue to RM101.64 million. Earnings per share were 13.61 sen.

The company proposed a first and final dividend of five sen tax exempt for the financial year ended May 31, 2010, totaling RM2.66 million.

The company attributed the higher revenue in 4Q to the increase in selling prices due to higher raw material cost.

For the fiscal year ended May 31, HPI Resources posted net profit RM22.84 million compared to RM18.97 million a year ago.

On its prospects, HPI said it would continue to maintain its market share and improve the production efficiency and productivity. It expected satisfactory performance for the year ending May 31, 2011.
