BCorp declines after shelving plans to buy Ascot stake

KUALA LUMPUR: BERJAYA CORPORATION BHD [] (BCorp) shares declined after resuming trade at 10am on Monday, June 28, following its decision to call off its plan to acquire a 70% stake in Ascot Sports Sdn Bhd.

At 10.05am, BCorp shares fell eight sen to RM1.28 with 3.71 million shares traded. Its decision to abort the acquisition came after the government decided not to re-issue the sports betting licence to Ascot.
