KUALA LUMPUR: Berjaya Corp will see trading activity on'' Monday, June 28 after it decided to call off its plan to acquire a 70% stake in Ascot Sports Sdn Bhd.
The decision to abort the acquisition came after the government decided not to re-issue the sports betting licence to Ascot.
Below is the statement issued by BCorp to Bursa Malaysia on Monday.
"Reference is also made to the decision of the Government not to re-issue the sports betting licence despite having granted its approval-in-principle for the re-issuance of the same.
"In view of the above, on behalf of BCorporation, AmInvestment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the Company has decided to abort the Proposed Acquisition and the Proposed Rights Issue.
