KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia international reserves rose US$700 million to US$136.1 billion (RM411.6 billion) as at Aug 15, 2011 from US$135.4 billion (RM409.6 billion) as at July 29.
In a statement Monday, Aug 22, Bank Negara said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 9.6 months of retained imports and is 4.5 times the short-term external debt.
